About the Event
Join other CHES families for a unique workshop, "Lichens - Let's make Fabric Dye", led by CHES Mom Ann Caliri, on Monday, October 6th @ 1pm.
Lichens - Let's make Fabric Dye. Learn about these unique creations of God, the ethics of harvesting them, how to test them for dye potential, and the method to make brilliant red and purple dyes.
Participants will examine a pre-made batch of dye, then collect their own lichens from the grounds, test them, and make a small jar of dye to take home to age.
All supplies and take home instructions included.
This workshop is limited to 5 students and is suitable for students aged mature 10 and up. We will be working with bleach and ammonia). Wear comfortable shoes and bring a towel to sit on.
We are asking for a $20 donation per student to benefit the Mclendon Cabin and Bryant…
