CHES Field Day 2021

Who:  All CHES students (ages 3 and up)

What:  Our Annual CHES Field Day

When:  Saturday, May 08, 2021 from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm

Where:  New Covenant Fellowship Athletic Field

Why:  To have fun!

Registration closes Friday, April 23, 2021.

We are thrilled to bring Field Day back to the CHES Group again this year.  We all missed it so much in 2020!

Some things will look a little different this year than they have in the past.  What's Different?  

1 - We are doing Field Day on Saturday this year to allow more parents to participate.  Field Day is such a fun day for the WHOLE family.

2 - We have already set a Rain date for Saturday, May 15th, just in case...

3 - Field Day will be held at a new location, New Covenant Fellowship Athletic Field.

4 - Registration will be done online.  

5 - We will not be providing t-shirts this year.  We are asking the families to have a white t-shirt for each participant (Child and parent).  We will be hosting a tie-dye day to make the shirts for each participant in their team colors. (Details are below)

6 - We will not be provoding snacks this year.  Please bring snacks and a picnic lunch for your family.

When you register, please tell us the following for each of your children that will participating in Field Day:

Child's Name

Age (as of 05-01-2021)

Grade (as of 05-01-2021) 

Gender AND

Athletic Aptitude (V=Very Athletic (plays several sports well, can run without being winded), M=Moderately Athletic, N=Not at all Athletic)

We ask that at least one parent or family member help during the field day event.  It takes a lot of hands to make this event successful.  Please choose two things that you would like to do (indicating your 1st and 2nd choices).  We will do our best to accommodate your request.  You will only be assigned one task.  

Parent Choices:

     - Event Coordinator - Run an event (explain to children the rules of the event, determine winners and keep the event

       setup-ready for the next group)

     - Group Leader - Lead a small group of children around to each event and maintain the group's score sheet.

     - Preschool - Assist with preschool activities and / or events

Please note that all parents (and grandparents) are welcome to join and help in on the field day festivities!

This year, we are asking families to provide a plain white t-shirt for each adult and child that is participating in Field Day.  (Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Walmart all have inexpensive t-shirts, but if you need help getting the t-shirts for your family, please let us know).  We will set a date before Field Day to meet and make tie-dye t-shirts.  We will still have color-coded teams.

Lastly, please bring snacks and a picnic lunch for your family.  We will not be providing snacks this year.

Field Day will be held outside, but we will be playing games.  In some cases, social distancing will not be possible.  Please choose to come, only if your family feels comfortable with this.
