CHES Field Trip To Jim's Gems and Gold, Aberdeen, NC

Join other CHES Families at Jim's Gems and Gold.

It only takes about 15 minutes to mine all the gems that are in the bag.  There are charts the students can use to identify what they have found and a few other activities in the area. 

They have picnic tables.  So, if it’s a nice day, bring  picnic lunch! 

There is no mask policy since the gem mining is done outside and there are covers over the actual mining areas so it can be done rain or shine. There will be shelter if it is a rainy day for those who are not mining to stand under or go in so they won’t get wet. 

Each bag for gem mining is $15 per person. Each person receives a bag of gems to mine.  Families can share bags if desired, and they have extra bags or buckets that can be purchased as well.  There is no cost for those that are not participating in the mining. You can pay there the day of the event, but we do need to give them a head count the day before, so please use the sign up sheet and communicate with us if you need to cancel.
