CHES Field Trip to San-Lee Park

Let’s enjoy the great outdoors - together!  

Join other CHES families for a field trip to San-Lee Park on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  

We will have the opportunity to check out the Nature Center, possibly look at injured or orphaned wildlife up close, go on a guided hike on one of their many trails, and participate in an activity led by their Outdoor Education Specialist (topic dependent on weather that day).  

We have also reserved the covered shelter and families are encouraged to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy some “free time” after lunch for fishing (bring your rods - under 16 do not need a NC fishing license - live bait encouraged), go on another hike in a smaller group, explore the Nature Center in-depth with a smaller group, or visit the playground.

There is no cost for this field trip.  We will cap the trip at around 25 students so that our hike and tour are manageable as one group.  We will do a wait list if this field trip fills up.  

At this time, masks are encouraged inside their buildings but are not required.
