About the Event

Join other CHES Families at Cameron Boys Camp at 10am on Tuesday, September 26th, for a presentation on Honeybees from the 2023 American Honey Queen.

The American Beekeeping Federation crowns an American Honey Queen each year who travels the countryas the national spokesperson speaking to students about the importance of honeybees to agriculture and how the flower, the bee, and society form a symbiotic relationship.  She will also share information about how honey’s properties surprise the senses.

The beekeeping industry touches the lives of every individual in our country. In fact, honeybees are responsible for nearly one-third of our entire diet, in regards to the pollination services that they provide for a large majority of fruits, vegetables, nuts and legumes. This amounts to nearly $19 billion per year of direct value from honeybee pollination to United States agriculture.

Feel free to pack a picnic lunch for your family to enjoy the beautiful grounds of Cameron Boys' Camp after the presentation!
