CHES Mom and Board Member, Deana Dyer, has created a field trip to the Sarcastic Sow Farm in Carthage.
The Sarcastic Sow Farm is home to three generations of farmers. Their goals are to raise animals on pasture and to restore the health of their land through regenerative agriculture practices. All of their animals are rotated to fresh pastures frequently within their 12 acres. They also use permaculture practices so that no space is wasted. The results of these practices are nutrient dense and vitamin packed food sources.
We will get a chance to interact with their Idaho Pasture Pigs while learning about regenerative farming. IPP's are true grazers of the land with gentle personalites. Closed toe shoes are required on this field trip. Limited to 25 students.
